Saltwater fishing in Eastern Long Island for fluke (summer flounder), tautog (blackfish), striped bass, sea bass, etc. and having a ton of laughs in the process. #1201645
Big Bass in the Rips and What the Fluke are Eating!
Sometimes, it's more than just the fishing. Long time client Ryan uses his fishing and hunting trips with his son Kai to teach Kai about the outdoors life, including filleting fish. It does help though when the fishing (somewhat) cooperates.
On this June day, joining Ryan and Kai were friends Bobby and Steven, and the bass certainly cooperated with stripers up to 40" caught. The fluke and weakfish didn't quite cooperate as well, but there was a nice two porgy surprise in the belly of the one keeper fluke we caught (which Kai, naturally, filleted).

I been fishin starry flounder in S.E. Alaska for 30 years. Only in the last few years have I gotten some Halibut. We don't eat much salmon, so we are addicted to flats. Fishin for your flukes is on my bucket list. Thank you for the next best thing. I've learned a bit from ya too. Thank you.

It's an offshore fishing machine. This will be used for real fishing. Sword, tuna, tiles. Not fluke and seabass. Not saying that fluke and seabass isn't real fishing, but this boat is an offshore (north east canyon) boat

okay let me do the math 100 gallons per hour=1.6 gal a minute. 1.6 x $4.89/gal=aprox $8.00 per minute.. reminds me of the commercial where the old mansion owner throws $100 bills in the fireplace to keep warm. We probably have reached peak economic prosperity for now. Million dollar center consoles, 80 thousand dollar pickup trucks, wild North Fork home prices, someday those bills will need to be paid off. Meanwhile John Skinner out fishes everyone on his 16ft aluminum boat......classic

The owner has a hired captain who probably cleans it. If you own that boat you are not cleaning it yourself you just pay someone to clean it.

Nice video man! Do you always use 6oz? I think you mentioned you were fishing around 70’ deep, what if you are fishing 40-50’, will you use 4oz then?

@@jiggingjerksthanks! So if it’s slower current, will you use smaller bucktails? Or you think the faster current is the most productive tide that you only want to fish
@@zzs7253 not that they won’t work when the current is slower, but I think the presentation is not as believable. I think if the Current is slower, you’re better off casting and retrieving or using live bait like eels or a diamond jig or flutter spoon.
